The floodwater has washed away part of the banks of the River Clywedog at Sontley and revealed what appears to be the remains of an old brick building. Local speculation is that it may have been a mill that was originally thought to have been sited closer to Erddig Road. Local archeologists are investigating.

The brickwork is clearly visible.
There is also what appears to be the remains of an old bridge nearby.
