Many of the Erddig walks can be linked together to make longer walks. Some more walks, including some longer walks will be added soon so get those boots out and get walking!

Re: Walk 6 - Wild Pig Walk
My friend and I were seriously cheesed off yesterday. We went to a great effort to organise and plan our walk. We chose Erddig - Walk number 6 - the Wild Pig Walk. It took us forever to find Kingsmill. Where are the directions to Kingsmill? Then, having found Kingsmill we began to follow the walk instructions. To quote the directions:
"Follow the footpath on the south side of the river going in the same westerly direction. After approx. 300m you can bear left up a hill towards a new house after going over a stile. The footpath crosses a maize field and ends up near a house at the rear of Marchwiel Hall."
Well, we followed the footpath - which was about 10 minutes in to the walk. However, the bear left up a hill etc etc was IMPOSSIBLE! It was completely overgrown, completely impossible to pass through. We had to turn back and went on one of our 'usual' walks elsewhere!
IF Erddig is going to post walks on the inter-net and encourage visitors and walkers - may I suggest they get their act together - and at the very very least - keep the walks accessible! This completely ruined our afternoon and had we realised that publicised walks on National Trust Property were going to be such a hassle and disappointment - we would not have bothered ... and will not be bothering again!
Regards
Sally
